Courage for Art

I realise it is a truth and fact that courage is an essential element in the process of Art creation; not only in art aspect, but also in our life of finding ourselves, be true to ourselves, and have the courage to let the world know who we are. Ah well, this is not an automatic transition of stage, can't force myself to become a warrior of courage suddenly; I will just do my best everyday, and let my courage grow bit by bit everyday.

Quickly painted a picture today, it has been in my mind for so long during exam period. I love it, because it has my favourite colours, green and white.

"Unbreakable Circles"

I want to learn how to frame pictures, so I can make it a decent gift for my dear ones. These days I have been painting based on bomobob's photos, I just love his view of the world. I am training myself to start create my own artworks too; not to be a copycat, but someone who knows how to make good use of inspirations from others. More of my paintings on his photos:

"Ocean's Call"

"Almost Home"

Last 2 weeks in Melbourne

Have been living in Melbourne for 3+1/2 years now,
not more than 2 weeks then I will be back in one of the most vibrant and busy cities, Hong Kong.

Last night was the last connect group (Christian gatherings) for me in Melbourne. It is the best place for my spiritual growth, for sharing laughters, hearty support and food sharing. I hope I can find a group that is as awesome as this in Hong Kong, or... might start a new 1 with few of my quirky but talented best mates in our heart-warming church.

Our lovely leaders decided to hold Kris Krinkle (or Seret Santa?) before I leave, so each one of us bought a gift for the person whom we picked randomly amongst the paper-names. It was my pleasure to buy a gift for the most knowledgeable and experienced leader in our group, he has taught us so much biblical insights and been such a blessing to our group, I just love him so much! I bought a big cookbook with many thoughtful family pictures and lovely quotes about family to him. He is such a family lover. :) And what did I get? A dainty oh-so-beautiful cross necklace. :) Gloria is my sweet heart sister. What's more, received a beautiful pink-leather covered bible and Brooke Fraser's newest album. It was an unforgettable night with lovely people, thoughtful gifts in a cozy house.

Introduction to Dream

Yoho! Finished my last semester of uni yesterday!
This is what I have always been planning about,
to live a creative life full of my art and creations!

I am a Tourism and Hospitality degree graduate,
but I have always dreamt about being an artist or handcrafter.
This project is to give myself a chance of trial,
to test my ability and potential on painting, handcrafting, creating and making.

My art skills are accumulated bit by bit in different stages of my life,
since 4, my mom sent me to little painting classes to learn about colours;
in elimentary and high school stage, I am most attentive during art lessons.
Mom has been a great influencer on my interests and skills,
she trained my Chinese calligraphy, she comments on my writing;
she likes to make greeting cards, and she loves the liveliness of flowers.

So, what is this 1-year project going to be like?
{ I will start intensively investing in my skills (on painting, crocheting and knitting)
{ Create at least 1 item per week.
{ Aim at opening an Etsy shop by the end of the year.
{ 11.30.2010 - 11.30.2011

So far, I am not sure which area will I be specified in creating; so I will experiment as much as I can;
I have confidence that my creations will lead me to THE way. I will keep my blog updated with my creation, inspiration and little thoughts that come along during my progress. To anyone who is reading my blog, Thank you for your time and support! :)
